Molly English (b. 1993) is an artist from the Chicagoland area. She received her Bachelors in Studio Art and Poetry from Columbia College Chicago in 2016, and her Masters in Fine Art from the University of North Carolina in 2024. In her work, English investigates the intersections between belief, agency, and the ways in which our bodies are categorized and controlled. She does so through a reimagining of grand-narrative tapestry, embracing texturally diverse craft techniques such as tufting, felting, and mixed media appliqué to hyper-texturize the mythologies within her work. Like a secret shared through tender contact, English’s work guides the audience through an exploration of faith and fiber—the ways in which they hold together and fall apart.
